DPS Bokaro celebrates `Medha Prowess’

Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : In its pursuit of excellence, Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro achieved yet another milestone by conducting `Medha…the Prowess’ on April 23, 2017, at its  Kalidas Kala Bhawan located in the school building.

It was one of the rare occasions when the students who had achieved excellence in various areas were felicitated for their achievements. The programme started with the welcoming of guests with  bouquets and ceremonious lighting of the lamp followed by a captivating rendition of welcome and school songs.

The Chief Guest of the occasion was Elvira Ramini, Deputy Secretary General, CIPC of International Olympic Committee (IOC), who was greatly impressed with the performance of the students in the  ventures of DPS Bokaro.

Speaking on the occasion, Elvira said that it was lovely to see teachers who have dedicated themselves to prepare the ‘Students’ for their future lives. She highlighted the mission of the Olympic Committee to promote morality and ethics through sports. She remarked that a sport is really about teaching friendship, respect and excellence adding  that  it is important to win medals in Olympics but it is more important to be champion in life.

Jaideep Sarkar, Board Member, Indian Pierre De Coubertin Association (IPCA) and Global Sports Federation of United Nations along with Dr Umakant Singh, Sports Ambassodor, Leipzig Sports University, Germany, and Board Member, IPCA, were also present on the occasion.

Director & Principal DPS Bokaro Hemlata S Mohan talked about the Olympic values, friendship respect and excellence in moulding life.

Around 40 outstanding students were felicitated under various categories in the field of Co-scholastic, Sports, Eco-friendly, Discipline, Moral Values and Exemplary services. Forty students from `Deepansh' received High Achievers Award and `Koshish’ women received certificates for their Course Completion. Mahatma Gandhi Conference Hall, a multi-purpose hi-tech conference hall, was also inaugurated by Elvira Ramini after the felicitation ceremony on this occasion.
