Muzaffarpur : One more patient suspected to be suffering from Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) was admitted to Sri Krishna Medical Colleg Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur, on October 11, 2017, night. The parients hails from Runnisaidpur in Sitamarhidistrict. With this the number of suspected cases of AESĀ has increased to 40 at SKMCH of which six have been confirmed as Japanese Encephalitis (JE) cases.
So far 15 children have died either due to AES or JE at Muzaffarpur during past few months. Four JE patients are still undergoing treatment. Muzaffarpur DM Dharmendra Singh has directed Civil Surgeon, Muzaffarpur, and Superintendent, SKMCH, to take proper care of all the AES and JE patients.
