New Delhi : India reported 6,396 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, down from 6,561 cases on March 3, 2022, taking the tally of cases recorded in the country since the outbreak of the pandemic to 4,29,51,556 at 8 am on March 4, 2022. I

India reported 201 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours, up from 142 deaths on March 3, 2022, taking the toll to 5,14,589 in the country on March 4, 2022, according to Union Health Ministry figure.

A total of 13,450 Covid-19 patients, on the other hand, recovered in last 24 hours, down 14,947 recoveries on March 3, 2022, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients since the beginning of the pandemic to 4,23,67,070 on March 4, 2022. India’s recovery rate (RR) improved to 98.64% on March 4 from 98.62% on March 3, 2022.

India’s Active Caseload was 69,897 on March 4, 2022, a drop of 7,255 in last 24 hours.  Active cases constitute 0.16% of the country’s total Positive Cases.

The last 24 hours saw a total of 9,23,351 sample tests being conducted in the country. India has so far conducted over 77.09 Crore (77,09,73,356) sample tests. The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country stands at 0.90% while  the Daily Positivity rate was 0.69% on March 4, 2022.

Meanwhile, With the administration of more than 24.84 lakh (24,84,412) vaccine doses in last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 178.29 Crore (1,78,29,13,060) as per provisional reports till 7 am on March 4, 2022.
