Patna : Elevan wickets fell on Day 1 of the 4th test match between India and England at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on march 4, 2021. Electing to bat after winning the toss, England were all out for only 205 in their first innings as spinner Axar Patel took 4/68 in 26 overs while fellow spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took 3/47 in 19.5 overs.
At stumps on Day 1, India were 24/1 in 12 overs losing the wicket of opener Shubman Gill (zero). Cheteshwar Pujara was unbeaten on 15 while opener Rohit Sharma was batting on 8 at stumps.
Axar had taken 11 wickets in 3rd test and 7 wickets in 2nd test. He made his test debut in 2nd test against England.
