Ara : A teenage girl was gangraped at village Kaura area under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district. The accused also posted the video of the rape on the social media.
An FIR against two persons : Sunil Kumar and Mantu Kumar of Kaura village, and two unnamed persons has been lodged with Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribes police station (PS), Ara, on September 5, 2020, on the statement of the girl after the video went viral on social media. Bhojpur SP said that police were investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the accused.
SHO, Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribes police station, said that a 15 year old girl of Gajrajganj police outpost area, a student of Class IX, had gone to Kaura village under Jagdishpur police station to her aunt (mausi) to take book two days back. After taking book, she was returning to her native village.
When she reached near Kaura Power Grid, four youth caught her and took her to a bush nearby and gangraped her, the SHO said. They also videographed the act and threatened to make it viral on social, media if she dared say anything to anyone. The survivor remained silent about the incident. But the miscreants still made the video viral on social media. Her family members saw it and after that the girl lodged an FIR with police in in this regard on September 5, 2020.
