Ara : Some armed miscreants entered the house of Nathuni Chandravanshi, 70, at Ekwari village under Sahar police station (PS) in Bhojpur district around midnight on September 4, 2020, and shot him dead. They also shot at and injured his daughter-in-law (bahu) Renu Devi, wife of Santosh Chandrawanshi.

Police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured there. An FIR was lodged with Sahar police station in this connection and police have arrested two persons and interrogating them.

SHO, Sahar PS,  police station said that Santosh Chandrawanshi, son of Nathuni Chandrawanshi, worked with Sudarshan Singh of Ekwari village for about 20 years but had been working in Gujarat for last three years. He returned home during lockdown as he fell ill there and started working with Sudarshan Singh once again. Sudarshan Singh gave his bullet motorcycle to Santosh Chandrawanshi saying he would easily come on his duty.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Singh and Dhananjay Singh, nephews of Sudarshan Singh, came to Santosh Chandrawanshi on September 4, 2020, evening, and scuffled with him saying that the motorcycle belonged to his uncle and he had no right to ride though the matter was hushed up at that time as villagers gathered there butaround midnight the same day, they once again went to Santosh Chandrawanshi but shot dead his father Nathuni Chandrawanshi, who was sleeping in his cowshed, in confusion..  Hearing the gun shot, Renu Devi, his daughter-in-law and wife of Santosh Chandrawanshi, came out of the house but the miscreants also shot at and injured her and escaped from the place.
