Muzaffarpur : In a sensational incident, a teenage girl Sofia Parwin was set afire and burnt alive allegedly by her neighbour when she was taking bath at her house at village Rampur –Bakhari under Sakara police station in Muzaffarpur District in North Bihar on September 4, 2020, noon, in a land dispute. Tension prevails at the village after the incident.
The body was sent to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur, by police for post-mortem. Police are yet to arrest the accused in connection with this gruesome incident.
SHO, Sakara police station, Lallan Kumar, said police were conducting raids to nab the accused, who have fled the village after committing the crime. According to police, Sofia Parwin, 19 ,was living with her mother Hushn Bano at Rampur-Bakhari village. Her father Abdul Sattar has died.
Hushn Bano, the SHO said, has lodged an FIR alleging that her neighbour Mohammad Junail and his wife Moni poured Kerosene Oil on her daughter and set her ablaze when she was taking bath at her house. Hushn Bano said she has a long drawn land dispute with
the accused.
