1,632 bottles of IMFL Police seize from two Buxar villages, woman held

Buxar : Police, on a tip off, conducted raids at village Daali Ke Dera under Tilak Rai ka Hata Plice Outpost under Simari Block in Buxar District on January 24, 2020, and seized 1,200 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) though the liquor smuggler escaped from the place.

An FIR has been lodged with Tilak Rai ka Hata Police Outpost under Prohibition & Excise Act in this connection and police are conducting raids to arrest the liquor smugglers. Police also seized four live cartridges from a house at the village.

SHO, Tilak Rai ka Hata Police Outpost, Jai Prakash Kumar, said that he got information that a big consignment of IMFL was being unloaded at Daali Ke Dera village in the wee hour on January 24 after which he along with police force immediately conducted raids there. Seeing police, liquor smugglers escaped from the scene leaving IMFL behind. Later, police seized 1,200 bottles of IMFL. The SHO said that the consignment belonged to Siyaram Yadav of Lal Singh Ke Dera village.

In another development, Buxar police conducted raids at village Chanwath under Nawanagar Police Station in Buxar district on January 24 and seized 432 bottles of IMFL and arrested a woman liquor smuggler Suganti Devi, wife of Yogendra Singh alias Yogi Singh of the village.

SHO, Nawanagar Police Station, Rajesh Kumar Chaudhary, said that he got information that IMFL was being sold at Chanwath village under the police station. He immediately swung into action and conducted raids at Chanwath and seized 432 bottles of IMFL and also arrested a woman liquor smuggler. A named FIR has been lodged with Nawanagar Police station against Suganti Devi under Prohibition & Excise Act.
