Muzaffarpur: Tirhut divsion commissioner Atul Prasad on Sunday said the Sikanderpur Mann, a pond located in the heart of Muzaffarpur Town, would be beautified to promote boating. It had been encroached by some people earlier but the Muzaffarpur district administration recently launched a drive to make it encroachment free.
The beautification of Sikanderpur Mann would lead to development of Muzaffarpur Town, said divisional commissioner Prasad. On the directive of the divisional commissioner, Muzaffarpur DM Dharmendra Singh has earmarked the area of Sikarderpur Mann by undertaking its measurement.
The DM had earlier recommended action against the people who had sold the land of Mann. The commissioner took the initiative and got it free from encroachment. The administration has filed chargesheet in the court against those involved in selling the land of Mann. It had lodged FIRs against about a dozen persons who had encroached the Mann land and later sold them at a huge price on the basis of fake documents.
