Sitamarhi: One Hari Narain Rai, 65, drowned to death in the old course of river Bagmati near village Mohni Mandal under Suppi police oupost in Sitamarhi district on Thursday.
The incident took place when he was crossing the river and lost control in the mainstream. The water was flowing around three feet deep but the current was very strong in the river. Hari Narain Rai was a resident of village Babhangama and had gone to draw money from Central Bank of India, Mohni Mandal branch. He did not take the long road route and tried to cross over the river. After post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family members.
