The court was hearing a PIL, heard filed by Vikash Chandra alias Guddu Baba regarding encroachments on Patna University campus including hostel and Golakpur Land. A division bench of the court had earlier had earlier directed the DGP, Bihar, to remove encroachment from the campus of Patna University.
With regard to encroachment on  Golakpur land, the Circle Officer had issued notice to encroachers, who filed their objection before him. But, the CO rejected their claims on June 16, 2016, and asked them to remove their encroachment themselves by June 25, 2016.
