Gopalganj: The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge-3, Gopalganj, on Wednesday sentenced to life imprisonment four persons including a couple in a case of murder of a farmer on July 5, 2003 at village Hadarwa under Kateya police station.. The judgment came 13 year after the incident. All the four convicts were sent to jail after the judgment.

One Shiv Bachhan Sah was beaten to death on July 5, 2003, in a scuffle that broke out after plucking of a mango from an orchard. Sah’s wife Ramsakhi Devi and his son Ambika Sah were also assaulted mercilessly when they tried to save him. The deceased’s son later lodged an FIR with the police in which Kanhaiya Sah, Pintoo Sah, Ramesh Sah and Bhoja Devi were made accused. The police later submitted the chargesheet against the accused before the court. The
court pronounced the verdict after hearing the arguments of APP Arvind Dwivedi and Defence lawyer Prabhunath Singh.
