Djokovic beats del Porto to reach SFs of Italian Open

Patna : World No 1 and four-time champion Novak Djokovic, Serbia, entered the semi-finals of Italian Open on May 17, 2019, late night, defeating World No 9 Juan Martin del Porto, Argentina, in a three-set thriller in the quarter-finals at Foro Italico, Rome, Italy. Djokovic beat Delpo  4-6, 7-6, 6-4 in 3 hr 1 minute coming from behind.

Both the players won 2 break points each in the match. Delpo though hammered 12 Aces in the match to 6 by Djokovic. Delpo also won 73 service points to 68 by Djokovic. Both the players won 3 games each in a row in the match.

Djokovic will face World No 24 Diego Schwartzman, Argentina, in the second semi-finals at 11.30 pm on May 18, 2019, while World  No 2 Rafael Nadal will face World No 7 Stefanos Tsitsipas, Greece, in the first semi-finals at 6 pm.
