Patna : Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park (SGBP), Patna, remained closed for public even on January 3, 2019, following the outbreak of H5N1 Avian Influenza. The park authorities carried spray of Virkon-S disinfection in all the birds enclosure on January 3. It was also sprayed in Ziraffe, Sambhar, Thinoceros, Fish house, lake, Elephant cage, and other enclosures.
The SGBP authorities are awaiting the report of test of blood samples of 26 species of birds, water and soil sent to National Institute of High Security Animal Disease, Bhopal, on December 31, 2018, according to Director, SGBP. He said that all the animals and birds at the park are safe.
