National Lok Adalat on Ara Civil Court campus on Dec.8

Ara : Elaborate arrangements have been made for the National Lok Adalat (NLA) scheduled for December 8, 2018, on Ara Civil Court campus. Several benches comprising judicial officials and lawyers have been formed to dispose off at least 2,500 cases at  the NLA.

District and Sessions Judge, Ara, Amarendrapati Tripati said that a large number of compoundable and non-compoundable cases have poured in for possible disposal at the NLA. A series of meetings have been held with Bhojpur district administration, bankers as well as the judicial officials as part of preparation for the NLA. He said arrangements have also been made to make people aware of the NLA even at block level.

Briefing the benefits of NLA, Secretary, District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), Narendra Kumar said the cases that could be settled amicably, are disposed off  without any cost. He said that maximum number of cases would be disposed off through amicable settlement.

Talking to this correspondent, Narendra Kumar said that cases related to Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), under Negotiable Instrument Act, Motor Accident Compensation Act, Compoundable criminal cases, matrimonial and family dispute cases, labour disputes, land acquisition cases, civil cases, revenue cases, disaster compensation cases, miscellaneous appeals, covered matter, pre-litigation cases, electricity and water bill cases, sales tax, income- tax, indirect tax, service matter including retiral benefits cases, pension cases, cases related to forest department and railway cases, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana and others have been taken up for the disposal at the NLA. Special guidelines have been sent to the officials concerned for the cases suitable for disposal at the NLA.
