Bagaha : Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on December 5, 2018, announced at village Champapur under Ramnagar Block in Bagaha police district that all farmers of the state will provided separate power connections for agriculture purpose like energy, toilet and piped water to each family under “Saat Nischay Yojana”. The scheme would be completed by December 2019, he said. Nitish handed over solar power connection for agriculture purposes to five farmers of Don villages on the occasion.
Earlier, Nitish inspected two mini solar energy plants established at Champapur (Stalbari) and Raghia villages of 2o kw and 10 kw respectively. About 199 tribal families have been provided power connections through the solar power grids. He inspected various stalls including Agriculture, Health, Social Security.
Nitish told mediapersons that 22 villages of Don located in Valmikinagar Tiger Reserve (VTR) will be covered by solar energy and it would violate forest and environment laws. He said that solar energy is cheaper than thermal power and the government promotes solar plants for hilly area like Don villages and places where electric wires have become old would be replaced by new one.
When a mediaperson informed the CM about a village Bhatajulla located on Indo-Nepal border, where villagers still fetch drinking water from Pandai river under Gunaha block in West Champaran district, Nitish replied that their problem would be solved very soon. The CM announced that Don village road also have solar streetlight. Tribal leader Pratap Chandra Kaji submitted a 6- point demand to the chief minister demanding pucca bridges over rivers Raghia and Banarahi for permanent road communication from Champapur to Gardi Don. Don villages still lack telecom facilities due to objection raised by the VTR.
Nitish was accompanied by Power Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav besides DM West Champaran Nilesh Ramchandra Deore, SP, Bagaha police district, AK Gupta, West Champaran SP Jayant kant, Valmikinagar MP Satish Chandra Dubey, ex MP Baidyanath Mahto, MLA from Ramnagar Bhagirathi Devi, and Valmikinagar MLA Surendra Pratap Singh.
