Patna : India beat England by 8 wickets in the first of the three-match T20I series at Old Trafford, Manchester, UK, late July 3, 2018, night, riding on a superb unbeaten 54 ball 101 with 10 fours and 5 sixes by Lokesh Rahul to take 1-0 lead in the series. India won the toss but opted to bowl.

Captain Eoin Morgan scored 7 runs while Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow were out for duck. Alex Hales made 8 while David Willey made an unbeaten 29 with 2 fours and 2 sixes. In reply, India made 163/2 in 18.2 overs.

For India, Kuldeep Yadav took 5/24 in 4 overs while pacer Umesh Yadav took 2/21. Hardik Pandyatook 1/33 in 4 overs.
