Dwivedi appointed next DGP, Bihar, to assume charge on Mar 1

Patna : K S Dwivedi, an IPS officer of 1984 batch and DG, Training, Bihar, was on February 27, 2018, appointed the next DGP, Bihar, until further order. The Government notification issued by Home Department on February 27 will come into force from March 1, 2018. The incumbent DGP P K Thakur will retire on February 28, 2018, midnight.

Dwivedi was also holding additional charge of Chairman, Central Selection Board ( appointment of Constables), Bihar. Dwivedi hails from UP and will retire on January 31, 2019. P K Thakur, a 1980 batch Bihar cadre IPS officer, was appointed DGP, Bihar, on June 24, 2014. Dwivedi was appointed DG, Taining, on May 10, 2015.

S K Sinha, a Bihar cadre 1983 batch IPS officer, and Rajesh Ranjan, a 1984 batch Bihar cadre IPS officer, are on central deputation.
