Patna : World Number 1 tennis player Rafael Nadal, 31, Spain, defeated 28th seed Damir Dzumhur, 25, Bosnia, 6-1, 6-3, 6-1 to enter the fourth round of Australian Open (AO) 2018 at Melbourne on January 19, 2018. Nadal, who had lost in the final of AO 2017 to Roger Federer, 36, Switzerland, took around two hours to virtually crush Dzumhur in three sets in a dominant win.
In the Women’s section, World Number 130 Denisa Allertova, Czech, advanced to fourth round defeating Magda Linette, Poland, in 71 minutes 6-1, 6-4. World Number 81 Petra Martic, Croatia, also entered the 4th round defeating Luksika Kumkhum, Thailand, in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.
