Virat, Anushka get married in Italy

Patna : Top Bollywood star Anushka Sharma and Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli tied the knot in Italy on December 11, 2017, ending suspense about the couple’s marriage plans. The two were married at a private ceremony attended by close family members and friends at a resort in Tuscany, Italy.

“Today we have promised each other to be bound in love for ever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you.This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans & well wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey,” said Virat in a twit. Anushka also said the same in her twit on December 11.

Anushka and Virat, who were married with Hindu wedding rituals, are likely to host a reception in New Delhi on December 21 followed by another bash in Mumbai for their industry friends and cricketers on December 26. After that, the couple will fly to South Africa where Virat will lead the Indian cricket team against South Africa in tests, ODIs and T20s. The celebrity couple, who had been dating since 2013, had remained tightlipped about their wedding plans till they got married in Italy.

Anushka’s last film ‘ Jab Harry Met Seja’ with Shah Rukh Khan had flopped. But, she was part of several successfuls films like PK, Sultan, Ai Dil Hai Mushkil, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, and Band Baja Baraat to name a few. She has also turned a producer. Virat, on the other hand, has hit 20 centuries in test matches and  32 in ODIs. He recently hits his sixth double ton in test cricket as captain.
