Woman lodges FIR against in-laws at Ara

Ara : A woman Khushboo Kumari on November 30, lodged a named FIR with the Woman police station in Bhojpur district on November 30, 2017, against four persons including her father- in- law Ran Vijay Upadhyay and mother- in- law Madhu Devi charging them with torturing her for dowry and dragging her out of the house.
SHO,Woman Police Station, Poonam Kumari said that Khushboo Kumari, daughter of Om Prakash Tiwari of village Pirauta under Ara Muffassil police station, was married to Shyam Ji Upadhyay, son of Ran Vijay Upadhyaya of village Akhgaon under Sandesh police station in Bhojpur district, in 2016 and ever since she was allegedly being tortured by her in- laws  for more dowry. When their demands were not fulfilled, Khushboo’s in- laws allegedly dragged her out of the house and also threatened to kidnap and kill her father.

Om Prakash Tiwari said that Khshboo’s in- laws had also filed a case in the court of the SDO against him and his son alleging they had kept Khushboo’s jewellery and cloths.
