Patna : World Number 8 Badminton player Kidambi Srikanth, 24, upset World Number 1 Viktor Axelsen, 23, of Denmark 14- 21, 22-20, 21-7 on October 20, 2017, to reach the semi-final of Denmark Open Super Series Premier. Hyderabad resident, Srikanth lost the first game but won the next two to stun Axelsen, a native of Odense, Danmark. Srikanth will meet Hongkong’s Wong Wing Ki in the semi-final on October 21. But, H S Pranoy and Saina Nehwal lost in the quarterfinals. Saina lost to A Yamaguchi of Japan in straight games 21-10, 21-13. Pranoy lost to Sun Wan Ho of S Korea 21-13, 21-18.
