Shuttlers Pranoy, Saina, Srikanth reach quarterfinals of Denmark Open

Patna : World Number 14 shuttler H S Pranoy,25,  shocked three time Olympic silver medallist and former World Numbr 1 Lee Chong Wei, 35, Malaysia, 21-17, 11-21, 21-19 in 63 minutes in Denmark Open Super Series Premier to reach the quarterfinals of the tournament on October 19, 2017. Pranoy had also defeated Lee Chong Wei, currently World Number 7, in Indonesia Super Series Premier four months back. Pranoy was not seeded in Denmark Open.

World Number 8 Kidambi Srikanth defeated South Korea’s Jeon Hyeok Jin 21-13, 8-21, 21-18 to reach quarterfinals. Saina Nehwal also reached the quarterfinals. She defeated World Number 9 Thailand’s Nitchaon Jindapol 22-20, 21-13 in pre-quarterfinals.
