Father-daughter duo shot dead at Bhojpur village

Ara : Some unidentified armed persons shot dead Panch Narayan Singh and his daughter Saraswati Kumari at village Nadhi under Sahar police station on June 17, 2017, evening and escaped. An FIR has been lodged with Sahar police station against two persons including Shrawan Kumar, brother of the deceased, on the statement of Sita Sundar Devi, wife of the deceased, but no arrest has so far been made in this connection. Later, police brought the bodies to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

DSP J P Rai said that one Pawan Kumar was beaten to death at village Nadhi in 2007 in  a dispute over a  drain. Surya Narayan Singh and Panch Narayan Singh were made accused in that case. But the matter was later compromised and the accused had to give 15 kattha of land and Rs 20,000  cash to Pawan Kumar’s father Dudheshwar Singh to buy peace. But the tension continued and finally one of the accused in 2007 case Panch Narayan Singh and his daughter Sarswati were shot dead. The DSP said that it was a retaliatory murder.
