Medicine shop owner shot dead in Saharsa

Muzaffarpur : Armed criminals shot dead a medicine store owner Ranjit Kumar Sah alias Tuntun Sah at Mahua Bazaar under Basnahi police station in Saharsa district on April 10, 2017, night, and escaped unchallenged. Criminals shot at Ranjit Sah on his chest and temple when was about to close his medicine shop. Ranjit was son of former Mukhia of Mahua North Panchayat Manjula Devi.

Basnahi police reached the place of occurrence after getting information about the incident. But by that time police reached there his kin had left for Saharsa sadar hospital with an injured Ranjit. But, Ranjit succumbed to his injuries on way to Saharsa Sadar hospital. The body was brought over to the hospital for post-mortem. Police are conducting raids at different places to arrest the assailants. Ranjit’s family members said that his father Devnarayan Sah, a former Mukhia, was also shot dead by the criminals several years back.
