Buxar : About 70 unidentified armed persons attacked Durga Rice Mill at village Jaipur under Itadhi police station in Buxar district in the wee hour on July 8, 2017, and made Srikant Singh, brother of the mill owner Vishwamitra Singh, and a labourer Banarasi Thakur hostage and beat them with lathi and butt of the rifles. Later, they looted 700 quintals of rice and escaped.
SHO, Itadhi police station, said that the miscreants came with four trucks loaded 700 quintals of rice on them. On getting information, police rushed to the spot and freed Srikant and Banarasi. An FIR has been lodged with police but no arrest has so far been made in this connection.
