New Delhi : Union Minister of State (I/C) for Youth Affairs & Sports Vijay Goel on July 8, 2017,  flagged off the 6th Slum Yuva Daud here with Minister of state for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha,  Parvesh Verma, MP, Cricketer Ishant Sharma and several other dignitaries. The Daud started from Hari Nagar Bus Depot and ended at DDA Staff Club Janakpuri with participation of thousands of youth from Delhi slums.

Addressing the participants, Goel said, “This is not just any other run but we are running for a better tomorrow” MoS for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha said that such sporting events promote unity among youth and encourage them to take up sports and other constructive activities. Other dignitaries in their speeches   hailed the Sports Ministry’s initiative of Slum Yuva Daud and called it a ‘great way” to tap young talent, according to a PIB release.

All dignitaries encouraged the youngsters to follow the path of “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat” to create a “New India”.
