Muzaffarpur : Police have arrested seven of the 16 named accused in Fish trader Ram Shringar Sahni murder case in Muzaffarpur district. Fish trader Ram Shringar Sahni was  shot at by bike and car borne criminals on July 24, 2017, night, near Mamarkha Chowk on NH 57 under Bochahan police station in Muzaffarpur district when he was returning home after purchasing vegetables.

An FIR was lodged with Bochahan police station against 16 named and three unnamed accused on the statement of Ram Shrigar’s brother Ram Shreshtha Sahni, a former Mukhia. SHO, Bochahan police station, Dhananjay Sharma, said police were conductig raids to arrest the remaining accused. The SHO said that the seven arrested criminals were identified as Ajay Sahni, Dipak Kumar, Rama  Sahni, Vishnudev Sahni, a former Mukhia, Dr Suresh Lal Sah, and his sons Sushant Punj Bharti and Prashant Punj Bharti. Due to security reasons they have been kept at another police station and being interrogated.

Ram Shreshtha Sahni, in his FIR lodged with police, said that he was going to attend a `Shradh’ at his village when he saw  the assailants standing near Mamarkha Chowk. They had come on four  bikes and a Scorpio. Before he could realise any danger, they started firing on his brother Ram Shringar Sahni as soon he came near them. Ram Shreshtha rushed his brother to Janaki Hospital with the help of villagers.
