6 persons injured as part of Bagaha railway station building collapses

Bagaha:  About half dozen persons sustained injuries one of them Sheochandra Sao sustaining serious injuries and referred to Bettiah Sadar hospital Bettiah when a 30 feet long rear terrace of over one hundred year old Bagaha railway station building suddenly collapsed on Friday morning. The other injured were discharged after treatment at Bagaha hospital in West Champaran district.

The rail station building is over hundered years old and was constructed when Narakatiaganj-Gorakhpur rail section was being converted into broadgauge from metreguage. Half portion of the building was not renovated in year 1998-99. It was sheer luck that other passengers standing behind the entrance gate of the station building escaped unhurt, said Bagaha railway station  superintendent Jaikumar.
