Patna: A six-member technical team of NITI Ayog, which reached Patna on February 15 afternoon, held discussion with the officials of Energy, Road Construction, Water Resources, Minor Irrigation, Agriculture and Environment and Forest departments at Soochna Bhavan, Patna, the same evening. The meeting was presided over by Principal Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Bihar, Dr Deepak Prasad.

Dr Prasad apprised the NITI Ayog team of progress of different projects. He said all the projects were nearing completion and targeted to be completed by August, 2017 and pleaded for release of rest Rs 5,065 crore of the approved Rs 12,000 crore.

The Nitish Ayog team has arrived here on a four-day visit to Bihar to discuss physical and financial progress of projects approved under special plan, Backward Region Grant Fund (BRGF), during the 12th five-year plan with state officials. The team is headed by Avinash Mishra, Joint Director, NITI Ayog. The team will also visit sites of some important Energy, Road and Water Resources projects of Bihar during its four-day stay in Bihar.
