Sasaram: A vehicle carrying stones knocked down a middleage man Rajeshwar Chaudahry in the afternoon on Thursday on G T road at Karavandiya under Muffasil police station in Rohtas district. Irate villagers set ablaze two vehicles and also damaged several others. They also blocked the Sasaram-Dehari main road for about three hours and blamed the police for patronizing stone mafias.
SHO, Sasaram Muffasil police station, Deena Nath Singh said that the vehicle was going to Dehri-on-Sone from Amaratalab under Muffasil police station when the incident occurred. Police seized the vehicle though the driver escaped from the scene. The locals alleged that police were patronizing the stone mafias and illegal stone crushing business.
