Motihari : Barring around two dozen incidents of technical fault in the EVMs in the morning, polling was passed off peacefully in Purvi Champaran parliamentary constituency (PC) in East Champaran district on May 12, 2019, where 22 candidates were in fray. The main contest was between BJP nominee and Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh and RLSP candidate Akash Kumar, son of Akhilesh Prasad Singh, MP, a senior Congress leader and former Union Minister.

According to an official report, the voters at village Suraha under Motihari assembly segment boycotted poll at booth
numbers 162&163 protesting lack of road at the village. They held the sitting BJP MP Radha Mohan Singh responsible for it.

A voter Vishwa Nath Singh, 67, died near Jiwadhara polling booth after casting his vote. He was not provided any medical help by the local administration, alleged his wife who had accompanied him to the booth. Two groups of voters clashed near Jamua  booth under Dhaka assembly segment  in which 4 persons were injured but  timely action by the administration brought the  situation under control.
