Patna : Police have arrested three persons in Darbhanga district for posting objectionable and controversial posts on their personal Facebook ids which soon became a topic of discussion among the locals creating tension.

The Facebook posts were detected by social media cell of Darbhanga police following complaints from locals and public representatives. The posts were receiving a good amount of re-posts and likes, said Darbhanga SSP Manoj Kumar. The three persons were arrested on August 3, 2018.

The Darbhanga SSP, in a telephonic conversation on August 6, 2018, said that 2 FIRs were lodged in this connection – one with Singhwara PS having 2 named accused and one with Simri PS, having 1 named accused. He further said that one month back too, a person was arrested in Simri for posting objectionable content on social media.

The 3 id’s have not been blocked as a screenshot of the reported id’s were sufficient enough to initiate the proceedings and nab them. He also said that social media cell is keeping a close watch on such posts.
