Patna : The Bihar Cabinet on November 14, 2017, gave its approval to two propsals of Home ( Police) Department for setting of 14 new Fire Brigade stations across the state. Of these, one fire station each will be set up at Bela (Muzaffarpur), Jethuli ( Vaishali) and Barari ( Bhagalpur) industrial areas.

Three fire brigade stations have been approved for Fatuha, Pataliputra and Sipara in Patna district and one each at Mojahidpur (Bhagalpur), Bhagwanpur (Muzaffarpur), Manpur (Gaya), Laheriasarai (Darbhanga), near J P University (Chhapra), Jamalpur (Munger), Sonbersa (Saharsa) and Gulabbagh (Purnia).

The state government also gave its nod for setting up a “State Ayush Society” under National Ayush Mission (NAM) to give a boost to alternative medicine in Bihar. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet chaired by CM Nitish Kumar, according to Principal Secretary,  Cabinet Secretariat Department, Brajesh Mehrotra.

The Cabinet also approved a grant of Rs 782.09 crore towards payment of salary to teachers and non-teaching staff and other expenditure in the state’s universities for the year 2017-18.

The Cabinet also approved a proposal of the State Labour Resources Department for the  setting up of an Industrial Training Institute in Banka district as part of the Skill Development scheme in districts affected by Left Wing Extremism.

The Cabinet also gave its approval to a proposal of Tourism Department for releasing Rs 48 crore for the construction of a multi-purpose hall-cum-garden on the occasion of 350th Prakash Parv of Guru Gobind Singh. The work will be carried out by the Building Construction Department.
