Sasaram: Sleuth of Excise Department and Rohtas police jointly conducted raids near Madaini railway crossing under Sasaram Muffassil police station on March 9, 2017, evening and seized a truck loaded with 13,200 pouches of country – made liquor. Police also seized a Scorpio and 50 pouches of countrymade liquor and arrested a liquor smuggler Rupesh Chaudhary of village Naran under Nokha police station in Rohtas district. The liquor was being brought over from Jharkhand.

SDPO Alok Ranjan said that he got information that some liquor dealers were selling liquor keeping it in Scorpio. He along with force immediately swung into action and arrested Rupesh Chaudhary from Nokha in Rohtas district and seized 50 bottles of countrymade liquor and the Scorpio on March 8 late evening. On his revelation, police seized a truck loaded with 13,200 pouches of countrymade liquor on March 9 night.  He said that police had seized a truck carrying Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) on March 8 too.

In another incident, sleuths of Excise department seized 7 bottles of IMFL and 6 pouches of countrymade liquor from two buses coming from Jharkhand on March 10, 2017,  morning near Post Office roundabout under Sasaram Town police station and also arrested two liquor smugglers:  Pappu Kumar Singh of Vishrampur and Rishikesh Singh of Raipurchor in Rohtas district. Bus drivers Raju Thakur and Binod Yadav too were made accused in the FIR but both of them are absconding.
