Ara : Bhojpur police, on a tip off, conducted raid at a Line hotel at village Malaur under Charpokhari police station on March 9, 2017, night and seized 126 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and also arrested five persons in this connection. A named FIR was lodged with Charpokhari police station against six persons though one person is still absconding. The liquor was smuggled from Haryana.
SHO, Charpokhari police station, Kuer Gupta said that police arrested Sopan Yadav of villag Barani in drunken state and when queried, he revealed that he got the liquor at a Line hotel at Malaur. Police immediately swung into action and raided the line hotel and seized 126 bottles of IMFK. He said that the Line Hotel belongs to panchayat samiti member and RJD leader.
In another incident, Bhojpur police conducted raid at a countrymade liquor counter at Garhani under Charpokhari police station on March 10 morning and seized 30 litre of Zawa Mahua and arrested five persons :Dasai Musahar and his wife Prabha Devi of Garhani, Sagar Musahar of Jahanpur, Dharmendra Manjhi of Ahiyapur village under Kako police station in Jehanabad district and Ram Bir Ram of Garhani village in Bhojpur district. Later, the police forwarded them to jail.
Yet in another incident, sleuths of Excise department with the help of Bhojpur police destroyed at least six liquor brewing factories on the banks of river Sone and seized 6 quintal Zawa Mahua kept in 8 drums on March 10 morning. Later, they destroyed the seized Mahua.
