Patna: Leader of opposition in Bihar assmbly Prem Kumar on Sunday demanded immediate repair and reconstruction of roads and highways damaged in recent floods. BJP leader Prem Kumar, in a statement here, said 1,017 rural roads and 8 National Highways in Bihar have been badly damaged in the floods. At some places on highways, 10 to 15 km length of roads have turned into ditches.
According to Prem Kumar, rural roads in Bhojpur, Vaishali, Samastipur, Bhagalpur, Saran, Banka, Katihar, Purnia etc have been damaged and need  immediate repair to make them moorable. In Bhojpur, 141 kms, in Patna 117 km, Bhagalpur 74 km, Purnia 135 km, Katihar 140 km, Kishanganj 108 km, Saran 107 km length of roads have become unfit for movement of vehicles.
He said National Highways 31 between Bakhtiarpur and  Mokama,NK 84 between Ara and  Buxar and NHs 85,80,19  and 15 are among the worst hit. The hovernment should repair them on war footing, he suggested.
