Ara : A bike borne cloth vendor was crushed to death by a JCB on NH-30 Ara -Mohania main road near village Harigaon under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district on May 26, 2019.
Irate vilagers blocked the Ara -Mohania main road near Dulaur village with the body and paralysing the movement of vehicles for about four hours. They were demanding compensation to the next of kin of the deceased. The blockade was lifted after positive response from police officials. Later, police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
The deceased was identified as Deepak Lal, 25, son of Surendra Lal of village Dulaur under Jagdishpur police station. BDO, Jagdishpur, Krishna Murari, gave a cheque of Rs 20,000 under family benefit scheme to the family of the deceased while the Mukhia gave a cheque of Rs 3,000 under Kabir Antyeshti Scheme.
SHO, Jagdishpur police station, said that Deepak Lal was working as hawker for the last five years and on May 26 he was going towards Harigaon on his motorcycle for selling cloths. But, when he reached near Harigaon, a JCB dashed his motorcycle killing him on the spot, the SHO said.
