Youth shot dead at Bhojpur village, police clueless

Ara : Some armed miscreants shot dead a youth at village Lauhar-Farana under Barhara police station in Bhojpur district around 10.30 pm on August 16, 2019, and escaped.

The deceased was identified as Rahul Singh, son of Ram Badan Singh of Chhotaki Lauhar village under Barhara police station. Police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Trivial issue is said to be the cause behind the incident. An FIR has been lodged with Barhara police station in this connection. Police are conducting raids to arrest the miscreants.

SHO, Barhara police station, said that a handpump was installed at the house of Rahul Singh at Chhotaki Lauhar village and the plumber was demanding his due wages. Rahul Singh had some tiff with him over the issue, the SHO said. Around 10pm on August 16, Rahul Singh was at the village when a call came on his mobile phone threatening him with dire consequences. At this, Rahul Singh went to the outskirst of village where some armed miscreants shot at him from point blank range. Rahul Singh fell on ground after which the miscreants escaped from the spot. Hearing the sound, the villagers reached the spot and rushed Rahul Singh to Ara Sadar Hospital but he succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital.
