Ara : Bhaglpur police, with the help of their Bhojpur counterpart, arrested a police constable Sunil Kumar from the house of his relative at village Bahiro under Nawada police station, Ara, on August 17, 2019, in connection with cheating and fraud worth  Rs 8 crore.

The arrested constable Sunil Kumar, son of Bhikhari Singh, is a resident of village Digha  under Dhangai police station in Bhojpur district. Later, Bhagalpur police took him with them to Bhagalpur.

ASI, Ishachak police station, in Bhagalpur district, Anil Kumar Akela, said that a constable Rajesh Kumar had lodged a named FIR with Ishachak police station against Sunil Kumar. Rajesh Kumar claimed that Sunil Kumar had borrowed Rs 5 lakh from him when he was posted in Bhagalpur but he did not return the money. When Rajesh Kumar compelled, Sunil Kumar gave him a cheque of Rs 5 lakh which bounced when deposited in the bank for clearance. In the meantime, Rajesh Kumar was transferred.

ASI, Ishachak police station, Anil Kumar Akela said that Sunil Kumar cheated his colleagues and even senior officials and fraudulently realised from them over Rs 8 crore. ASI Akela said that Sunil Kumar also cheated in the name of share market. When the matter came to light, some other police constables also complained to Bhagalpur SP who ordered to institute FIRs against Sunil Kumar.

After cheating his colleagues and officials, Sunil Kumar went underground and also kept on changing his hideouts and mobile phone numbers so that no one could get his location. In the meantime, Bhagalpur police got clue that Sunil Kumar had taken shelterat the house of his relative at Bahiro village under Nawada police station. Bhagalpur police reached Ara and with the help of their Bhojpur counterpart arrested Sunil Kumar from Bahiro.
