Youth dies in accident at Ara

Ara : A youth Prafful Kumar, son of Ram Bahadur Singh, was crushed to death by a speeding vehicle in Dhanupura locality under Ara Town police station in Bhojpur district on October 19, 2019, evening.

The deceased was a resident of village Narauni under Pawana police station. After the incident, irate residents of the area blocked Ara-Patna NH-30 near Dhanupura with the body paralysing the movement of vehicles. They raised slogans against the district administration and demanded arrest of the driver of the vehicle and a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to next of kin of the  deceased. The blockade was lifted after positive response from the police officers. Later, police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

The onlookers said that Prafful Kumar was going somewhere on his motorcycle when a speeding vehicle dashed the motorcycle from behind killing him on the spot. The driver of the vehicle fled away with the vehicle after the incident.
