Patna : World No 1 female shuttler in Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings Tai Tzu Ying, 24, Taiwan, beat World No 10 Saina Nehwal, 28, India, in a three-games 21-13, 13-21, 21-6 in 52 minutes in the final to lift the women’s singles title at Denmark Open at Odense on October 21, 2018. Ying now has 13-5 head to head record against Saina.

Saina lost the first game easily but rallied to win the second game with equal ease and appeared that the third game would see a fierce contest. But, Ying was all over in the third game winning it at 2106. Ying won consecutive points in the match to 3 by Saina. Saina has not won a BWF major super series title for two years.
