Ara : Under the banner of Youth Hostel Association of India (YHAI), Bhojpur Branch, a function was organised on June 5, 2019, to mark the World Environment Day. Hundreds of Youth Hostellers took out a procession to create awareness about the danger posed by pollution of air, water, sound, and soil. The procession passed through the main thoroughfares of Ara Town and culminated at Jai Prakash Memorial near Ramana Maidan.

Speaking on the occasion, Member YHAI, Anil Raj, cautioned the people against environment pollution and said that they have inherited plenty of natural resources form their ancestors which are now depleting. He said that it is now our duty to preserve the environment so that the coming generation may enjoy the gift of nature. He exhorted people to plant more and more trees and preserve them, save water, and prevent water, air and soil pollution to live happily on earth. Later, he administered an oath to the gathering for preservation of environment.
