Patna : World No 4 Akane Yamaguchi, 22, Japan, brushed aside World No 1 and top seed Tai Tzu Ying, 25, Chinese Taipei, in the semi-finals on July 20, 2019, to reach the final of Blibli Indonesia Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 1,000 badminton tournament, at Jakarta, Indonesia.

Fourth seed Yamaguchi, the 2018 All England Open Champion, demolished Tai Tzu 21-9, 21-15 in just 32 minutes at Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, Indonesia. She won 42 rallies in the match to 24 by Tai Tzu. She won 6 consecutive points to 3 by the World No 1. Tai Tzu, however, still leads Yamaguchi 10-8 Head to Head.
