Sitamarhi : Bihar Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi (SuMo) on July 20, 2019, reviewed rescue and relief operations in flood hit Sitamarhi district at a high level meeting with District Incharge and Urban Development Minister Suresh Kumar Sharma, local MP Sunil Kumar Pintu, MLC Devesh Chandra Thakur, MLAs, district level office bearers of political parties, senior officials and Disaster Management experts at Dumra Collectorate. Modi visited relief and rehabilitation camps and community kitchens including the one in Sitamarhi town and expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements.
Meanwhile, the death toll in the flood has increased to 27 in the district. The district officials confirmed it. By the order of DM Dr Ranjeet Kumar Singh all schools and coaching institutes shall remain closed in the district till July 25, 2019, in view of the  flood condition. Over 200 shelter homes and community kitchens are functional in the district. Twelve cattle camps are operational too. Major rivers including Bagmati are showing showing eceding trends.
