Patna : World Number 2 Akane Yamaguchi, Japan, defeated World Number 3 P V Sindhu, 22, India, in a fiercely contested semi-final match 19-21, 21-19, 21-18, on March 17, 2018, night, to enter the final of All England Open Badminton Tournament 2018 at Birmingham, UK. All England Open Badminton is world’s oldest Badminton tournament.
Yamaguchi has thus narrowed her head to head record against Sindhu to 4-6. Yamaguchi will play World Number 1 Tai Tzu Ying, Chinese Taipei, in the final on March 18 night.
In the Men’s section, World Number 8 Shi Yuqi, China, will play World Number 6 and six time champion Lin Dan, China, in the final.
