Saharsa : Police on August 2, 2017, arrested Pankaj Kumar, a Junior Engineer of Water Resources Department (WRD) posted in Supaul district, from his Kosi Colony residence at Saharsa for allegedly poisoning to death his wife Raveena Kumari with the help of his family members and a criminal Raju Sahni on August 1, 2017, after she failed bring Rs 10 lakh cash as dowry.
Raveen was poisoned to death by her husband and in-laws on August 1 but her mother Savita Devi, a resident of village Chukti under Mansi police station in Khagaria district, lodged an FIR with Pastpar police camp under Saur Bazaar police station on August 2 and police arrested Pankaj the same day. Savita, in her FIR lodged with Pastpar police, has charged 10 persons including Pankaj, his family members and a criminal with killing her daughter. Raids are on arrest other named accused.
Pankaj married Raveena two months back at Singheshwarsthan Mandir in Madhepura district. Pankaj, a native of village Ajgeva under Chausa police station in Madhepura district, is son of late Sushil Sahni.
