Patna : World No 2 in WTA rankings Caroline Wozniacki, Denmark, World No 6 Naomi Osaka, Japan, World 20 Anastasija Sevastova, Latvia, and World No 28 Qiang Wang, China, entered the women’s singles semi-finals of China Open tennis championship at Beijing on October 5, 2018.

Wozniacki beat World No 40 Katerina Siniakova, Czech Republic, 6-2, 6-2 in the quarter-finals. Both the players served 3 Aces each in the match. But, Siniakova committed three double faults. Wozniacki, on the other hand, won 4 break points. She also won 5 games in a row in the match.

Osaka beat World No 45 Shuai Zhang, China, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 in the quarter-finals. Osaka hammered 9 Aces in the match to 3 by Zhang. Oaka committed 8 double faults in the match to7 by her rival. Both the players won 6 break points each. Both the players also won 4 games in a row each.

Sevastova beat World No 30 Dominika Cibulkova, Slovakia, 6-3, 7-6 in the QF. Cibulkova committed 8 double faults in the match to 3 by Sevastova. Sevastova served 3 Aces in the match to just 1 by Cibulkova. Sevastova won 5 break points to 3 by Cibulkova.

Wang beat fast rising World No 16 Aryna Sabalenka, 20, Belarus, 7-5, 7-5 in a tough contest. Both the players served 3 Aces each in the match. Both of them also committed 2 double faults each. But, Wang won 4 break points to 2 by Sabalenka. Both the players won 3 games each in a row.
