Patna : In a massive upset, World Number 80 Joao Sousa, 28, Portugal, defeated World Number 9 in ATP rankings and 7th seed David Goffin, 27, Belgium, 6-0, 6-1, in the second round of Miami Open Masters 1000 tournament at Crandon Tennis Park Centre, Key Biscayne, Florida, USA, on March 22, 2018, night. Sousa completely dominated the match to enter the third round of the hard court event.

World Number 16 and 13th seed Diego Schwartzman, 25, Argentina, defeated Nicolas  Jarry, 22, Chile, 6-3, 6-1, to enter the third round of Miami Open 2018. Yuki Bhambri, 25, India, has entered the second round of the tournament.
