Patna : World No 5 Alexander Zverev, 22, Germany, and World No 75 Nicolas Jarry, 23, Chile, entered the final of ATP Geneva Open at Geneva, Switzerland, on May 24, 2019.
Zverev beat World No 84 Federico Delbonis, 28, Argentina, in a three-set thriller in the second semi-finals on May 24, 2019, late night. Zverev beat Delbonis 7-5, 6-7, 6-3 in 2 hr 38 minutes. Zverev broke Delbonis’ service 6 times in the match while the latter broke his service thrice. Both the players won 4 games each in a row during the match. Zverev hammered 14 Aces in the match to 5 by Delbonis.
Jarry beat World No 45 Radu Albot, 29, Moldova, 6-3, 6-4 in the first semi-finals in 76 minutes on May 24. Jartry fired 6 Aces in the match to just 1 by Albot. Jarry broke Albot’s service thrice in the match while the latter broke his service only once. Jarty also won 3 games in arrow. Jarry will play Zverev in the final on May 25, 2019.
